Wanda Lee Bennett, 94 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday October 16, 2022 at 2:50 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Wanda was born July 1, 1928 in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Daisy (Woods) Hayes.
Wanda worked at Kroger’s for 20 year and for the Darke County Courts. She and her husband owned the Pine Street Restaurant; she loved to play cards, bingo, sew, and cook. She especially loved being around people.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne Allen Bennett; her son, Steve Bennett; her brothers, Art, Fritz, Mel, and Leonard; her sisters, Mary, and Molly; her ½ sisters, Mabel, Garnett, and Helen.
Wanda is survived by her children and spouse, Russ and Judy Bennett of New Madison, Paula Bennett of Greenville, Bruce Bennett of Greenville; grandchildren and spouses, Bud and Melinda Bennett, Jody and David McCartney, Mike and Macy Bennett, Shawna Calkins, and Kami Frost; great grandchildren, Shelby and Maddie Bennett, Colton, Peyton, and Riley McCartney, Ryan Bennett, Ashley, Mikayla, and Lexi; 4 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday October 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Greenville Cemetery with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
