Wanda Lou Petry

December 30, 1943 – November 7, 2024

Wanda Lou Petry (Jenkinson), age 80 of Greenville, Ohio passed away the evening of November 7, 2024 in her home surrounded by family after a short battle with liver cancer.

Wanda, a wife, sister, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother was born on December 30, 1943 in Greenville, Ohio, she was one of three children born to the late Emerson Jenkinson and Zenda Jenkinson (Lane).

After graduating from New Madison High School, Class of 1962, Wanda met the love of her life, Tom, and they married November 18, 1962. Throughout their 62 years of marriage, it was a rare sight to see Wanda without Tom. Wanda went on to work at various local places, eventually spending the last 30 years at Financial Achievement Services, Inc. in Greenville.

Wanda was a competitive fisherwoman, loved catching any fish, but panfish was her specialty. She was a passionate card and marble player, and part of a local women’s card club for many years. Wanda loved making her family famous butterscotch dessert and “beef and pot pie”. Most of all, her favorite past time was spending time with her large and beloved family. Family was everything to her; she will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, mother and father-in-law; Mary Petry (Brown), and Arthur Petry, sister-in-law; Ellen Miles (Petry), sister-in-law; Janet Hetzler (Petry), sister-in-law; Josephine Shreeves (Jones), brother-in-law; Joe Stockton, brother; Cecil Shreeves.

She is survived by her husband Tom Petry of 62 years: son Brian (Susan) Petry, grandson Brandon (Nelli) Petry, and granddaughter Julia (Jacob) Robinson. Great-grandchildren, Annika, Lydia and Benjamin Petry. Brother Rodney (Star) Jenkinson, sister Faye Stockton, 18 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews, and 24 great-great nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

“On that”. A Celebration of life will be held December 1, 2024 at J and J Enterprises located at 3875 OH-502 Greenville, Ohio 54331. The doors will open at 1:30 PM, a service will be held at 2:00 PM with a meal to follow.
