There’s a old say that says that ‘all good things must come to a end’.
In this case, ‘all bad things must stop’.
Yesterday, another school shooting took place. This time in Tennessee. Three young lives were lost as well as three adult lives.
It all began in 1979 when 16 year old Brenda Spencer went on a shooting spree at Grover Cleveland Elementary in San Diego California.
On that fateful day, Spencer murdered the principal, custodian along with two children and nine were Injured.
Also, a police officer, Robert Robb, was injured.
Her sentence was life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
Her motive for doing it…Dislike for Mondays.
Since then, it’s been like a runaway locomotive with six losing their lives Monday.
Over the course of the years, many school shootings have taken place with Columbine being the biggest of them all.
In every case, the killer had their reasons and all of them pretty lame.
No matter who you are, most everyone has a beef with their old schools…even me.
Now at the age of nearly 65, I have no intentions of going to my old school and shooting the place up.
It’s a shame that schools have a police presence in the school’s so the students stay safe.
In 1972, I never could have imagined a police officer roaming the halls of Tri-Village.
I pray that officer will never be used because some idiot has problem with the school.
Maybe it’s time we put God in the forefront of our schools. Who knows, maybe, just maybe, God will put a stop to this insanity.
Until then, how many more lives will be lost?
Only God knows.
One more thing.
For those of you that have wondered about my intentions for sports.
I’ll be seeing you at the games soon.
