Willard “Bud” Shelton, 79, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Reid Health in Richmond.
He was born on February 14, 1943, in Hagerstown, Indiana, to the late Charles and Juanita (Davis) Shelton.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane “Janie” (Snyder) Shelton; his sisters, Shirley Ann Dale and Claudia Ann Payne; and his brother, Jerry Shelton.
Bud was an ASE Certified Master Service Technician on Heavy Duty Equipment. If it had a diesel engine, he could work on it. Over the years, Bud worked for Dearing Implement, NATCO, Mack Truck, Industrial Lift Truck and the Recycling Center in Richmond. Many will remember Bud from his time working at the Country Ribeye/The Patio where he worked as a bouncer for several years. He served the town of Greens Fork, Indiana, as Assistant Fire Chief for many years as well as Deputy Town Marshall. Bud enjoyed woodworking and was a master of trivia.
Bud is survived by his son, Robert Ray Shelton, and his daughters, Shannon Becker and Christy (Robbie) Hager; his grandchildren, Ashley (Zane) Garrabrant, Adam (Kimberly) Shelton, Lindsey (Marty Lawson) Horn, Robert Forbes, Rosemary (Billy Gillaspy) Forbes, Zeke Becker, Danika (Dylan) Embree, Brent, Dylan, Kynnedi and Reagyn Hager; his great grandchildren, Angel Embree Gonzales, Gauge and Aurora Horn, Maddy and Landon Garrabrant and Nova Forbes; his siblings, Mary Johnson, Joan Hatfield, Kenneth (Karen) Shelton, Wilma (Danny) Younger, Max (Valarie) Shelton, Debbie Shelton, James Shelton and Christopher Shelton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Bud’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
