Wilma C. Barbee, 93, of Covington, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at Ohio’s Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Troy.
She was born November 12, 1928, in Covington, to the late Emerson G. and Zelma (Fessler) Mader. She married Ralph F. Barbee on September 5, 1950; he preceded her in death on August 8, 2008.
Wilma will be missed and remembered by her three sons, Dennis (Chris) Barbee of Piqua, Jerry (Lisa) Barbee of Covington, and Tim Barbee (Toni Lyons) of Covington; sister Marcella Colby of Piqua; brother Chalmer (Judy) Mader of Tipp City; seven grandchildren, Jill (Jody) Balser, Rita (Terry) Puthoff, Kelly (Mike) Schellhouse, Jeff (Marissa) Barbee, Jennifer (Tom) Crim, James (Corey) Barbee and Johnathon (Megan) Barbee; 13 great-grandchildren, Aly Schellhouse, Patrick & Andrew Puthoff, Jefferson & Theodore Barbee, Autumn, Thomas, Joy & Jackston Crim, Daniel Barbee, and Scarlett, Rykker & Ivy Barbee, with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by a sister and brothers-in-law, Gladys (Bill) Oelslager and Richard Colby.
Wilma was a 1946 graduate of Covington High School and was a lifelong homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and the Farm Bureau Women. Wilma enjoyed doing puzzles and an occasional trip to the casino.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, at Friedens Lutheran Church, 11038 W. Versailles Rd., Covington, with Pastor Ippy Mwakabonga officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington.
