Wyatt Samson Reese

Wyatt Samson Reese, a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend, passed away unexpectantly on August 24, 2024, in his hometown of Versailles, Ohio. Born to Rusty Reese and Carey (nee Crothers) Reese on February 8, 2010. Wyatt’s life was a vibrant tapestry of passion, kindness, and youthful exuberance.

Wyatt attended Versailles Middle School, where he was to be in 8th grade. His academic curiosity and intelligence shone brightly in the classroom, earning him the admiration of both teachers and peers. With inspiration from his big brother, Wyatt loved training with Colton at the gym No Name along with help from the gym’s trainers, Alex and Brendan. In spring of 2024, Wyatt enjoyed his first year for the school’s track team and was looking forward to more. Outside of school, Wyatt worked hard as a young kid, who enjoyed life to its fullest with family and friends along with being admired by many. His family’s yearly tradition was to travel to Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Siesta Key, Florida, for the classic vacations which he looked forward to every year. Among many things, he will be remembered for his love of family, his chickens, his dog, Izzy, being outdoors, and his infectious smile.

Wyatt’s quick wit, shy grin, humbleness, kind heart, laughter, and adventurous spirit touched everyone he met. He had a drive and determination that gave him the ability to challenge himself, work hard, and to figure out what he didn’t already know. Wise beyond his years he was respected by young and old.

Wyatt is survived and deeply missed by his loving parents, Rusty and Carey Reese, and his brother, Colton Reese. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, John and Doris Crothers Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Rick and Kim Reese, and Louann Reese; and a close-knit family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by his uncle, John R. Crothers Jr.

The family will receive friends 2 – 7 PM Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. A celebration of Wyatt’s life will be held immediately following the visitation at 7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Following the service, Wyatt will be cremated and remain with his family. The family request casual attire, so come as you are!
