Thursday, Aug. 1
The Cancer Association of Darke County will hold their monthly support
group on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Wayne Health Care on
the 3rd floor in the Conference Room. This month will be an open forum
and participants are encouraged to bring at least one thing in printed
material which deals with cancer in some way. The topic can
be on
treatments, nutrition, stress, pain, infection or any other topic which

The Darke County Soccer Association will hold its Annual Meeting at the
Fairgrounds soccer fields on Monday July 29th at 6:30pm. The
meeting will discuss the status of DCSA and the upcoming seasons,
volunteer opportunities, leadership positions and growing soccer in
Darke County. The public is invited to attend the

The Ohio Department of Agriculture will be sponsoring a collection for
farmers wishing to dispose of unwanted pesticides on August 20 from
10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the Shelby County Fairgrounds, 655 South
Highland Avenue, Sidney, Ohio 45365. The pesticide collection and
disposal service is free of charge, but only farm chemicals will be

The Cancer Support Group normally meets the first Thursday of each
month. Due to the July 4 holiday, the group will not meet

month, but will plan to meet again on August 1, 2013. The association
suggests that if you know someone battling cancer, give them a call, or
stop and visit them, take them a sack lunch or go to the park with them
