TROY, Ohio — Premier Health is expanding access to fast, convenient orthopedic care with the opening of a new Premier Orthopedics Walk-In Clinic at Upper Valley Medical Center, giving Miami County residents a no‑appointment option for sudden injuries and new bone, joint, or muscle pain.
The Troy clinic, which opened in February, is part of a growing network that also includes locations in Englewood and a recently opened site in Centerville. All three walk-in clinics treat patients ages 12 and older and are staffed by orthopedic advanced practice providers trained to evaluate and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Shawn Marhelski, PA‑C, MPAS, of Premier Orthopedics, said the clinic was designed with busy families in mind.
“People don’t plan for sprains, twists, or falls,” Marhelski said. “Our walk-in clinic gives patients quick access to orthopedic expertise so they can get answers, start healing, and get back to their routines without waiting for an appointment.”
The clinic treats common orthopedic injuries including sprains, strains, suspected fractures, dislocations, sports injuries, work-related injuries, and new joint or muscle pain. On-site X-rays allow for same-day imaging, and each visit includes a treatment plan or referral if specialty care is needed.
“Our goal is to provide the right care in the right setting,” Marhelski said. “If it’s something we can manage here, like immobilization, pain control, or a referral to physical therapy, we address it immediately. And if a condition is more complex, we make sure patients are directed to the appropriate level of care.”
The walk-in clinics are designed specifically for acute, non-life-threatening orthopedic concerns. Complex trauma, open fractures, or conditions involving neurological symptoms are referred to the emergency department or escalated to an orthopedic surgeon.
Premier Orthopedics’ walk-in clinics welcome new patients, accept most insurance plans, and do not require a referral unless required by the insurer. Patients already established with Premier Orthopedics may also use walk-in hours for follow-up visits.
The Troy clinic is located at Upper Valley Medical Center, 3130 N. County Road 25A, Suite 116. Walk-in hours are Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
