September 18, 1957 — April 5, 2026
Joe Janowiecki, age 65, of Greenville, was called to be released from the pain of cancer to join his Lord on April 5, 2026.
Joseph J. Janowiecki was born on September 18, 1957 to Richard and Mary Ann (Nowak) Janowiecki in Toledo, Ohio.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Lucinda (Snyder) Janowiecki; his siblings, Robert (Deborah) Janowiecki, Kathleen (David) Phillips, Paul (Barbara) Janowiecki, John (Angela) Janowiecki, Thomas (Julie) Janowiecki, & Susan (Timothy) Reboulet; and many well-loved nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe worked as a self-employed electrician. He called his company TLC Electric because he believed in giving each client Tender Loving Care. Many kept in contact through the years.
Having a passion for saltwater fish and corals, Joe invited everyone he met to come see his 500 gallon reef aquarium. Neighbors and their guests, a high school class, delivery people, folks from Greenville Missionary Church, and many others learned about God’s underwater creation in Joe’s basement. He also shared this hobby with preschool kids, retirement homes, banks, and dentist offices by setting up and maintaining aquariums.
Joe was nicknamed “The Candy Man” because of his habit of sharing candy with children of all ages. He was also a wood worker, making cabinets, bookshelves and especially wooden boxes.
Memorial contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice or Cancer Association of Darke County.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville.
A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Oser officiating.
