Gary Michael Lutz, age 65, of Bradford, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1960 to Clarence Leonard Lutz & Katherine Ann (Mendello) Rinearson in Dayton, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother John Lutz. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Debra Elizabeth (Wilson) Lutz of 35 years; children Jonathan Lutz of Dayton, Deanna Norvell Wendel of Bradford, Heather Lutz of Bradford, and Michael (Mary) Lutz of Bradford; 14 grandchildren including Devin, Vaileyana, Gage, Finn, Abagail, and Shianne; siblings Leonard (Mary Ann) Lutz of Marion, Frank (Andrea) Lutz of Marseilles, Dean Lutz of Marion, Donny (Sandy) Lutz of South Carolina, and Julie (Luke) McGuire of Marion; sister-in-law Karen Lutz of Xenia; beloved pets Onyx and OJ.
Gary enjoyed fishing and bonfires with his grandchildren, listening to music, and his Mustang GT. He loved making candy with his children. Gary loved Christmas as it was his favorite holiday. He loved helping others and enjoyed helping around the campgrounds. He was a people person and could talk to anyone. Gary was an amazing husband, father, and papaw! He loves working for his family and making sure we had everything that we needed, wanted, and much more. Gary could fix anything in front of him and he loved cooking on the grill even in the winter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Thursday, May 14 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
