
Theft (not in progress)
On May 10, 2026, at approximately 1412 hours, I was dispatched to 1009 East Main Street; CVS, in reference to a theft not in progress.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with the complainant, Jeffrey Tuma. Jeffrey is the Store Manager at CVS. Jeffrey advised he observed a white female, wearing a gray jacket and black pants, who appeared to be approximately 5′ 4″ walk into the cosmetics aisle and place several products into the pockets of her jacket before exiting the store, passing all points of sale without paying for the merchandise. Jeffrey stated he believes the products stolen was approximately $200.00. Jeffrey was given a statement and a victim rights form which were completed and returned to me. Jeffrey was able to provide a still image of the suspect. I was unable to identify the subject from the picture. The photo provided by CVS will be attached to this report.
The photo of the suspect was given to other officers and placed in the log with the Greenville Police department to attempt to identify.
Wanted Person
On May 15, 2026, at approximately 1354 hours, I responded to 305 Miami Circle #8 in reference to a wanted person.
Prior to my arrival, I was informed of a male residing at the listed address, Steven Mcguire, who had an active arrest warrant out of Franklin County, Ohio. I made contact with Steven at his residence and he was advised of his active arrest warrant. Due to Steven having medical issues and not being able to walk unassisted, Steven was placed in handcuffs with his hands in the front that were gap checked and double locked. Steven was searched with no contraband found.
Steven was placed in the back of my cruiser, 1946, and transported to the Darke County Jail and incarcerated. The back of my cruiser was checked before and after transport with nothing located.
Theft (not in progress)
On May 15, 2026, at approximately 1444 hours, I responded to 5805 Jaysville St. Johns Road; BSG, in reference to a theft complaint.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with Rebecca and Ed Atchison, both managers at BSG. Ed advised throughout the week of 05/03/26-05/10/26 three trailers were picked up for transport. Ed advised they do not know the name of the drivers that pick up the trailers, and they just have a sheet with the company information with the trailer they are to take. Ed stated the drivers displayed all proper documentation to take the trailers. Ed stated trailer #5304 was to be delivered to Royal Oak, MI, with approximately $700,000.00 worth of product, trailer #5009 was to be delivered to Louisville, KY, with approximately $600,000.00 worth of product, and trailer #5305 was to be delivered to Swedesboro, NJ. with approximately $497,000.00 worth of product. Ed stated trailer #5304 had been recovered by Indiana State Patrol near Muncie, IN, report #26ISPC008263, with the BSG products still inside. Ed advised BSG does not own any of the trailers, which are owned by Big Freight Transportation. I attempted to make contact with Big Freight Transportation with no answer. Ed was given a statement form at this time and was advised I would follow up again on Monday 05/18/26. I made contact with PTL. Wells of Indiana State Patrol. PTL. Wells was not able to provide any information to a possible suspect without a photo of the suspects. PTL. Wells advised he would email his report when completed to be attached to this report.
On May 18, 2026, I followed up with BSG. Ed advised he reviewed the video and was unable to get a clear picture or video of the suspects taking the trailers. Ed completed the statement form and a victim rights form returned them to me. I attempted again to make contact with Big Freight Transportation with no answer.
I attempted to make contact with Ohio Organized Crime Investigation ( OCIC) for assistance with this case. I was unable to speak with anyone at this time, a voicemail was left.
I spoke with Matthew with OCIC. Matthew advised he could send this report to task forces in the area to attempt to locate the offender.
At this time I have not been able to make contact with anyone from Big Freight Transportation to get the registrations for the missing trailers.
This case will need further follow-up.
