Greenville, OH – The Matt Light All-Conference Football Camp is set to return June 15–16 at Alumni Stadium at Greenville High School, once again bringing together hundreds of young athletes for two days built around football fundamentals, leadership development, and mentorship.
Hosted by The Light Foundation, the camp continues its long-standing mission of using athletics as a platform to teach responsibility, accountability, and character to youth in grades 2–8.
Founded by three-time Super Bowl Champion Matt Light and his wife Susie, the camp remains rooted in the belief that meaningful mentorship and shared experience can have a lasting impact beyond the field.
“This camp has always been about more than football,” said Matt Light. “It’s about giving kids a chance to be seen, to be challenged, and to be surrounded by people who care about their growth on and off the field.”
The event will welcome 300 students from across the region and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration filled quickly at the beginning of June, reflecting continued demand and strong community engagement.
Of those participating, 250 campers will rotate through football stations, drills, and scrimmage-based instruction tailored to age and skill level. An additional 50 participants entering 7th and 8th grade will take part in the camp’s Light Leaders mentorship program, where they are challenged to take on leadership roles, support younger athletes, and develop confidence through service and example.
“Leadership isn’t something you wait to grow into,” said Coach Aaron Shaffer. “It’s something you practice. And this program gives kids that opportunity in real time.”
Campers this year represent more than 40 schools and homeschool groups, including Ansonia, Arcanum Butler, Brookville, Carlisle, Celina, Coldwater, Covington, Eaton, Franklin Monroe, Greenville City Schools, Marion Local, Mississinawa Valley, National Trail, Preble Shawnee, Troy Christian, Versailles, and many others.
The Light Foundation emphasizes that the camp’s continued success is made possible through strong community support, including volunteers, coaches, and sponsors who help keep the experience accessible to all participants.
“From the very beginning, this camp has been built on community,” said Light. “We’re grateful to everyone who continues to invest in these kids and what they can become.”
