The Ohio Insurance Institute (OII) supports child passenger safety through its Child Emergency Identification Sticker program. Available at no cost, these highly visible stickers are designed to be placed on a child’s car seat or booster seat and provide first responders with critical information — such as a child’s name, medical considerations, and emergency contact information — in the event of a crash or emergency.
When a child or caregiver is unable to communicate, the information provided on the sticker can help emergency personnel quickly identify the child and connect with family members or caregivers.
The OII also provides accompanying educational handouts that explain how to complete and properly place the sticker, and they include a link to information about correct car seat and booster seat use.
Organizations that interact with parents and caregivers are encouraged to request stickers and handouts to share with families throughout the year.
To receive the free stickers and handouts, organizations can submit a request through the OII’s online form. Materials can be shipped directly to support your outreach efforts and help more Ohio families be prepared in an emergency.
