In just a few days, Greenville Farm Power of the Past will have Opening Ceremonies to kick
off their 27th Annual Reunion at the Darke County Fairgrounds. Lots of events, displays,
food vendors, and flea market vendors will provide lots of reasons to spend July 9-12 at the
fairgrounds.
This year’s features include Allis-Chalmers tractors and equipment, New Idea Farm
Equipment, and fractional horsepower gas engines. The Buckeye Allis Club and the New
Idea Historic Preservation Committee will be there to promote their organizations and
provide information about the displays. Feature engines this year are fractional
horsepower stationary gas engines. These small engines were used for powering small
household chores, that otherwise required manual labor, before electricity became part of
life.
Chuckwagon racing will be a thrilling Thursday evening event beginning at 6:00 in front of
the Grandstand. B & B Chuckwagon Racing anticipates more than a dozen teams
competing that evening. The Darke County Tractor Pullers Association will hold the first
part of their Annual July Classic on Friday evening beginning at 7:00. The second part of the
Classic is the antique pull on Saturday morning at 10:00. The Western Ohio Garden Tractor
Pullers Association will hold their annual pull on Saturday evening at 6:00. The annual
horse pull will begin on Saturday at 6:00 in the horse arena.
The Veterans Building will be open during the show and veterans will be there to answer
questions and share details about the many unique items on display. “Make and Take”
sessions, Story Time, Scavenger Hunts, Kiddie Tractor Pull, Sunday Church Service, and
more are planned. There will be lots of vendors on the grounds and the Community Center
will also house vendors this year. Come hungry because there will be a variety of food
vendors to tame that appetite!
Everyone is invited to display tractors, horse-drawn implements, and stationary gas
engines. Just bring them in anytime Monday through Wednesday so all is in place before
Opening Ceremonies on Thursday at 9:00 AM. We ask that all exhibitors become members
of Greenville Farm Power of the Past. The membership of $10.00 also includes daily
admission to the show.
Visitors are sure to find something to enjoy whether you come for the antique tractors, gas
engines, activities, vendors, or food. Admission is $5.00 per person and free admission for
kids under the age of 12. Check out our website at www.greenvillefarmpower.org or our
Facebook page for more information.
