Glenn Joseph Hilbert, 74, of Eaton, Ohio and formerly Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026. He was born in Richmond, Indiana to parents Raymond J. Hilbert and Violet M. Hilbert (Wheeler).
Glenn is survived by wife, Pamela J. Fenner Hilbert; sons, Glenn J. and Heather Hilbert, Sean M. Hilbert and Shaye Dickey, and Townshend M. and Laura Fenner, three sisters, Stella and Joe Witte, Nancy and Bob Copenhaver, and Julie and Burt Young; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many close friends, including many he’d known for decades.
He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend whose kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched the lives of so many.
Glenn loved the Lord with all his heart and found strength, hope, and peace in his faith. He trusted God’s plan through life’s joys and challenges, and his relationship with the Lord guided the way he lived. His faith was reflected in the compassion he showed to others, the helping hand he was always willing to offer, and the love he shared with family and friends. While his presence will be deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
Glenn found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether he was out on the water boating, spending hours fishing, or enjoying the thrill of drag racing, he embraced every opportunity to do what he loved. Just as meaningful to him were the countless hours spent tinkering in his garage, working on his beloved hot rods. He loved bringing old engines to life, fine-tuning every detail, and sharing his passion with family and friends. His garage was one of his favorite places—a place where hard work, creativity, and good company came together, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Known as the mechanic everyone could count on, Glenn never hesitated to lend a hand. If something was broken, he was the first person people called. He had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything and took pride in helping others without expecting anything in return. His garage was more than a place to work—it was a place where friends gathered, stories were shared, laughter echoed, and projects came to life. Whether he was helping someone repair a vehicle or putting the finishing touches on one of his hot rods, Glenn found genuine happiness in working with his hands and sharing that joy with others.
Glenn will be remembered for his unforgettable sense of humor. He loved making people laugh with his quick wit, goofy impersonations, and playful jokes. Whether he was making his famous squirrel calls, breaking into a spot-on Donald Duck impersonation, or mimicking the roar of a race car engine, he always knew how to get a laugh. One of his favorite sayings was, “That’s nacho cheese!”—a simple joke that became one of the many little things everyone will always remember about him. His laughter was contagious, and his ability to brighten someone’s day was a gift that made every gathering a little more joyful.
Above all else, Glenn will be remembered for his faith in God, his hardworking spirit, his love for his wife, family and friends, and the joy he brought into every room. His life was a blessing to those who knew him, and his legacy will live on in every fishing trip, every day on the water, every race, every afternoon spent in the garage, every repaired engine, every hot rod lovingly restored, and every cherished memory shared by those who loved him.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and take comfort in knowing that Glenn has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Glenn leaves behind a loving wife, family and countless friends who will forever cherish his love, laughter, wisdom, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Until we meet again, his memory will remain forever in our hearts.

A celebration of life will held in his memory in the coming weeks.
