Congressman Davidson to head panel
GREENVILLE, OHIO – Residents will have an opportunity to hear from elected officials representing federal, state and county government during a public forum on how various levels of government are responding to the growth of data centers.
The forum will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Birchwood Training Center, 5844 Jaysville-St. Johns Road, Greenville. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
Panelists include U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson, Ohio Rep. Angie King, Darke County Commissioner Matt Aultman and Darke County Prosecuting Attorney Jim Bennett.
The discussion will focus on the responsibilities of federal, state and local governments regarding data center development and the potential effects on communities, including infrastructure, energy demand, water resources, land use, taxation and economic development.
Following opening remarks from each panelist, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions during a public question-and-answer session.
Organizers said the purpose of the forum is to provide citizens with factual information about government oversight and decision-making related to data centers and to encourage informed public discussion as interest in these facilities continues to grow across Ohio.
