
Mark A. Landis, 65, of Covington, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, August 8, 2026, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born February 28, 1961, in Troy, to the late Roger “Bud” and Mary (Staudt) Landis.
He will be missed and remembered by his children, Jennifer Landis of Troy, Mitchell (Amber) Landis of Union and Shelby (Zach) Garland of Greenville; five grandchildren, Brooklyn Landis, River Garland, Noah Landis, Remi Garland and Reed Garland; his siblings, Tim (Janet) Landis, Robin (Matt) Brown and Susan Landis, all of Covington; and many friends and extended family members.
Mark was a 1980 graduate of Covington High School and retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, and was a Christian who valued his relationship with his Lord and Savior. Mark had served his communities as a member of Covington Fire & Rescue and Pleasant Hill Fire & Rescue, and was also a member of Piqua Fish & Game.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, August 14, at Moore Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington, with Pastor Jon Dillon officiating. Private burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covington Fire & Rescue, 801 W. Broadway, Covington, OH 45318.
