Domestic Violence
On August 9th, 2026, at approximately 2046 hours I was dispatched to 706 Twelfth Street in reference to a verbal domestic. Dispatch advised that Shannon and Joseph Reed have a no contact order in place.
Upon arrival I made contact with Joseph Reed, Shannon Reed and Christy Chantraz. Joseph and Shannon were arguing on the front porch of the residence and I told Joseph to come speak to me in front of my cruiser. I placed Joseph in handcuffs due to him being irate and a possible no contact order. I asked Joseph if there is a no contact order between himself and Shannon. Joseph stated there is a no contact order in place but he did not think Shannon was at the residence when he arrived. I double locked the handcuffs and placed Joseph in the back seat of my cruiser.
I spoke with Shannon and Christy and Shannon stated Joseph is not to have any contact with her due to a domestic violence incident that occurred in early July. Shannon stated that Joseph was in the residence when she arrived which did start a verbal argument.
Sgt. Prickett made contact with Darke County Probation Officer Burton and advised her of the incident. Probation Officer Burton advised Sgt. Prickett that she was going to violate Joseph’s probation and to arrest him.
I transported Joseph to the Darke County Jail and released him to Jail Staff. I checked the back seat of my cruiser before and after the transport, I found nothing.
Wanted Person
On August 21, 2026, at approximately 1436 hours, I was made aware of a subject with a warrant leaving Asian Buffet, 521 Wagner Avenue.
I received a phone call from Dep. Crumley with the Darke County Sheriff’s Office advising he observed a male he was able to identify as Ashdon Dyson. Dep.
Crumley stated he knew Ashdon had an active warrant for his arrest through Preble County Sheriff’s Office on an original charge of failure to comply. Dep. Crumley advised he witnessed Ashdon getting into the back passenger seat of a gray truck that was pulling a trailer that had a lawn mower on it. I observed a vehicle matching that description bearing Ohio registration TRW8767 on the rear of the trailer traveling northbound on Wagner Avenue before turning right onto East Main Street. Based on the information provided to me, I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of East Main Street and Driftwood Drive.
Upon approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, I observed a male in the back passenger side of the vehicle. I asked the male if he was Ashdon, to which he stated he was. I ordered Ashdon out of the vehicle to which he complied. I placed Ashdon in handcuffs that were gap checked and double locked. Ashdon’s person was searched at this time, with no contraband located. Ashdon was placed in the back of my cruiser 1946. Ashdon’s warrant was confirmed through LEADS/NCIC by GPD dispatch.
Ashdon was transported to the Darke County Jail and released to the jail staff. The back of my cruiser was checked before and after transport with no contraband was located.

Domestic Violence
On August 25, 2026, at approximately 7:03 AM I along with Officer Kiryluk were dispatched to
300 East Third Street in the City of Greenville in reference to a report of domestic violence occurring at the listed address. Prior to officers’ arrival, we were advised that the defendant, known to me as Michael Nusbaum Jr., had just left the residence traveling south on foot. I located the Michael a few minutes later at the intersection of Montgomery Street and Martin Street, a few blocks from his residence.
I approached Michael and spoke to him about the incident. Michael advised he was in an argument with his ex-girlfriend, known to me as Jillian Sweat. Michael stated the argument occurred at their shared residence of 300 East Third Street where they have a 1-year-old child in common with each other. Michael informed me he left the residence after the argument, but it was not physical. Michael was detained on suspicion of Domestic Violence and transported back to 300 East Third Street so I could speak with Jillian.
Upon my arrival I located Jillian on the front porch of 300 East Third Street. Jillian informed me Michael became upset after he found out she was texting his brother. During the argument Michael approached Jillian in the living room of their shared apartment. As Michael approached, Jillian tried to distance herself from Michael. Michael closed the distance, shoved Jillian, which subsequently caused her to fall to the floor. Michael then grabbed Jillian by the hair on her head and pulled her up, with Jillian stating to officers, “It hurt”. When Jillian stood back up Michael started flailing his arms around, striking her on the left bicep. Jillian stated she felt like Michael punched her in the bicep. There were no visible signs of injury. Jillian showed me the living room of the residence, where it showed signs of items being knocked over.
Michael’s mother, Jamie Sloan arrived to the scene and stated she was “face timing” Michael on the phone during the while the incident was taking place, however, she could not show proof she had been on the phone with Michael at all.
Jamie indicated Michael was on the phone with her crying but Jillian would not leave him alone. Jamie did acknowledge that either Michael dropped the phone or it turned off prior to when Jillian said the physical domestic incident took place.
Michael was placed under arrest for domestic violence. Michael was placed in handcuffs that were double locked and gap checked. Michael was transported to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated with no bond. A CCH was run on Michael with him having a prior Domestic Battery conviction on January 28, 2020, out of Adams County, Indiana enhancing this incident to a 4th degree felony. Jillian filled out a victim’s rights form and a statement regarding this incident. Michael filled out a statement regarding this incident. I checked my cruiser before and after transport with no contraband being located.
