Nan “Nancy” Hoover Rivetti, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on April 26, 2026, at age 91. She was born on July 2, 1934, in Brunswick, GA, to parents Annie Smith Hoover and James Henry Hoover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Louie Francis Rivetti.
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Louie and Monica Masso-Rivetti of Greenville, Jack and Terri Rivetti of Huber Heights, and Andrew and Veronica Rivetti of Poplar Bluff, MO, their eight grandchildren, Cella and Tony Masso-Rivetti, Clare Rivetti, Joseph (Seth) Rivetti-Sharpe and Jacob Rivetti, and Diego, Gabriela and Alejandro Rivetti, and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Nan was a 1952 graduate of Glynn Academy High School in Brunswick and she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA, in 1956. She then taught music education in Eastman, GA, and Jacksonville, FL.
She married Louie Rivetti of Aliquippa, PA, in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Brunswick, GA, in 1957, and was received into the Catholic Church by Reverend Father Alvin J. Deem, OFM, in Kansas City, MO. Nan and Louie moved to Greenville, OH in 1965.
Nan was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenville, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society there. She enjoyed reading, writing letters, writing poetry, and playing her favorite game, Quiddler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 West Third Street, Greenville, Ohio, with Father Ken Baker as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Church Cemetery in Greenville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Wednesday, May 6, from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 4:30 PM at the funeral home.
