Darke County Center for the Arts Family Theatre Series will present Yellow Bird Chase at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on Sunday, November 2. The first presentation of DCCA’s Family Theatre Series, the play follows a bumbling maintenance crew that finds a magical bird, beginning a mad chase over land, across the sea, and through the air. “Audiences of all ages will enjoy this leap into the world of imagination,” said David Warner, DCCA Artistic Director for Performing Arts. “The ingenuity of this theater troupe is only matched by their creativity, promising a good time for all concerned,” he concluded.
According to “Liars and Believers,” the theatre company which produces Yellow Bird Chase, this comic play utilizes clowning puppetry, and gibberish to share a message teaching cooperation, kindness, and empathy. Based on the Italian form of clowning known as Commedia Dell’Arte to create an imaginative environment, the group of actors intend totransport their audiences to fascinating places. The cast includes Jesse Garlick, a theatre maker and educator located in Boston, Rachel Wiese, who has appeared in regional theares in Boston and Austin, Glen Moore, who has done theatre work in Boston and Denver, Rebecca Lehrhoff whose work ranges from acting to theater-devising to dance to set design, and Karina Ithier, who is an actor, writer, and arts educator also based in Boston.
