February 6, 1941 — March 29, 2026
David L. Butts, age 85, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at his home.
He was born on February 6, 1941, in Greenville, to the late Herbert and Helen (Enoch) Butts.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Wynn) Butts, whom he married on February 6, 1960, and who passed away on September 26, 2009; and his granddaughter, Kimberly “Kym” Brown.
David is survived by his children, Candy (Shawn Allread) Butts, Penny (Joe Wellman) Williams, and Susan (Mike) Brown, all of Greenville; his grandchildren, David (Jaime) Cook, Christopher (Amber) Williams, Stacy (TJ) Inman, and Brandon (Alicia) Brown; and his 10 great grandchildren.
David dedicated 43 years of his career to working as a press operator at Corning Glass, until his retirement in 2001. Outside of work, he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and assembling wooden puzzles. Known for his familiar and often-used phrase, “What now,” David carried a sense of curiosity and humor that will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
