Vandalism
On October 9th, 2025, at approximately 1328 hours I was informed by Chief Benge of a vandalism incident under the E. Main St. Bridge. Chief Benge sent me video footage that he received from the City of Greenville Street Department, who maintains the bridge, of a female subject graffitiing the northeastern, underside of the E. Main St. Bridge. It appeared that a female subject, on September 23, 2025, at 8: 58am took a can of black spray paint and proceeded to write a series of unidentifiable words on two separate locations on the wall beneath the bridge. P.0. Wolfe and I went to the bridge and located the spray painted wall. Photos were taken of the graffiti. Please see photo log for further. Upon observation of the video footage, I was able to identify the subject graffitiing the bridge as Joslyn Barna. I attempted to contact Joslyn at her place of residence, 703 E. 4th St., but was unable to contact her.
Disorderly Conduct
On October 10th, 2025, at approximately 0839 hours I was dispatched to 100 Public Square reference a disorderly subject. Upon my arrival, I made contact with Jeffery White, who had a box with a picture of a gun on it. The box was from Det. Dickmann returning property to White from the Greenville Police Department which contained a hatchet and a pair of scissors and not a gun. Staff at 100 Public Square were concerned he may have an actual gun in the box. I spoke with White who advised that he wasn’t threatening anyone or making claims that there was a gun in the box. During the conversation, White was asked what the Greenville Police Department could do for him. White replied with “You can shoot me, take me out of my misery, and carry me away in a body bag.” Due to these statements, White was advised he would be pink slipped. White was detained in handcuffs which were double locked and gap checked. White was then transported to Wayne Healthcare for evaluation and observation under the application for emergency admission form also known as a pink slip. White was received by Wayne healthcare staff for evaluation and observation. A copy of the Application for Emergency Admission was filed with this report. White’s items on his person to include a backpack containing personal items as well as a hatchet, scissors and knives were transported to the Greenville Police Department and placed into property for safekeeping.
Drugs
On October 6, 2025, at approximately 1928 hours, I responded to 510 Harrison Avenue in the City of Greenville, in reference to a structure fire. Upon my arrival, I located Sarah Fleming sitting in the back yard of the residence. Other officers and I observed flames coming from the attached garage and observed multiple items inside the garage explode. During these events, Sarah continued to sit on the grass watching the fire while holding a black and green purse that she was holding multiple black kittens in. During this incident Sarah became disorderly and was eventually detained into handcuffs that were gap checked and double locked. Sarah was read her Miranda Warning multiple times and was subsequently placed into the backseat of Cruiser 1941 so that emergency personnel could continue to deal with the fire. I then grabbed Sarah’s purse and placed it into the front seat of Cruiser 1941. After contacting Lt. Monnin, Sgt. Prickett advised me that Sarah would be transported to the Greenville Police Department to be questioned by Detective Dickman in reference to possible arson. Please see Detective Dickman’s narrative 25-G01398 for further. I then transported Sarah and the purse to the Greenville Police Department. Sarah was escorted into interview room 2 in the Greenville Police Department, and her purse was placed in the operations room. After Detective Dickman interviewed Sarah and found probable cause to place Sarah under arrest, her bag was searched incident to arrest. Upon searching Sarah’s person and her bag, multiple items were located in the bag. Due to the nature of some of the items located, certain items were placed into property at the Greenville Police Department. Among these items was a black BB handgun with a CO2 magazine loaded with BB’s, a crystal pipe with a white substance inside, a plastic baggie containing approximately 6 grams of a white crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, a glass jar containing unknown seeds and multiple white pills and a pair of brass knuckles. Upon locating these items in the purse, P.O. Wentworth spoke with Sarah again and asked if the purse and all of its contents belonged to Sarah, to which she stated yes. The suspected drug substances and paraphernalia will be sent to the crime lab for analysis. Sarah will have felony possession charges pending these results. A property sheet was completed for the items placed into property. Photos were taken of all property that will be attached to this report. The purse and all other items contained within were transported to the Darke County Jail by P.O. M. Colby and were placed into Sarah’s property there.
