National Bank continues support of Empowering programs
GREENVILLE – “Thank you for all that you do for our kids,” said Vickie
Wessling, Public Relations Coordinator for Park National Bank. “This is
a great program and all of you should be proud of what you have
accomplished with these kids.”
Wessling and Park National Bank Vice President Brian Wagner recently
presented a check to Empowering Executive Director Bob Robinson. This
is the fourth consecutive year that Park National Bank, formerly Second
National Bank, has supported Empowering programs. The financial
institution has been a strong supporter of multiple community and
youth-oriented activities over the years.
In addition to its donations, Park National Bank has an annual
sponsorship on County News Online, an Empowering Darke County Youth
fundraising project providing Empowering and general educational news.
Empowering was formed in 2016. Since that time, as of March this year,
the program has worked nearly 20,000 hours providing academic support
to 869 Darke County students. Programs include on-campus After School
Tutoring in Greenville, Ansonia and Arcanum-Butler, as well as
individual tutoring at Empowering Distance Online and Greenville Public
Library. Summer tutoring on the Edison State Greenville campus will
hopefully be available again in 2021.
Empowering needs community-oriented people who have a passion for
helping our kids, our future leaders. Contact Empowering at P.O. Box
1113, Greenville 45331, Empowering Darke County Youth Facebook, its
website: empowerdarkecounty.com or email: empoweringyouth101@gmail.com.
The Empowering Mission: Empowering Darke County Youth is a 501c3 United
Way Partner Agency providing After School and Summer Tutoring programs
to assist students in the areas of reading, language arts and math with
the goal of Strong Students for a Strong Community.
