Greenville’s Cox one of 27 Edison State Student-Athletes Named to OCCAC All-Academic Team
Twenty-seven student-athletes from Edison State Community College have
received Academic All-Conference honors from the Ohio Community College
Athletic Conference (OCCAC) for the Fall 2019 semester. To qualify, a
student-athlete must have completed at least 12 credit hours with a
3.30 GPA.
“These student-athletes are giving their all both on and off the court
or field. On behalf of myself and the entire Edison State coaching
staff, we are very proud of their academic achievement,” said Nate
Cole, Director of Athletics and Student Life at Edison State.
Members of the women's volleyball team earning honors include Chloe Cox
of Greenville (4.0 GPA), Kathryn Lee of Tipp City (4.0 GPA), Sarah
Pothast of Wapakoneta (4.0 GPA), Emily Powell of Piqua (4.0 GPA),
Katelyn Sosby of Jackson Center.
Earning honors from the men’s basketball team is Jaedyn Carter of Columbus.
Nine members of the women’s basketball team earned honors, including
Elysabette Andrews of Lima, Mariah Baker of Springfield, Kayla Bergman
of New Bremen, Madison Bakosh of Springboro (4.0 GPA) Brogan McIver of
Sidney (4.0 GPA), Rebekah New of Houston (4.0 GPA), Sarah Pothast of
Wapakoneta (4.0 GPA), Emily Powell of Piqua (4.0 GPA) and Allison
Siefring of St. Henry (4.0 GPA).
Casey Jones of Brookville, Collin Kenworthy of Louisville, KY (4.0
GPA), Lance MacDonald of Mt. Pleasant, MI (4.0 GPA), Richard Nixon of
West Carrolton, and Chandler Sproles of Lewisburg represent the
baseball team in academic excellence.
The softball team is represented in academic excellence by nine of the
players including Lindsey Albers of Minster (4.0 GPA), Hannah Campbell
of Salem, IN (4.0 GPA), Sophia Mueller of Piqua, Hannah Oaks of West
Milton, Hailee Price of Bellefontaine, Hallie Snyder of Troy, Kacie
Tackett of Pleasant Hill (4.0 GPA), Alyssa Theodor of Springfield, and
Paige Williams of Springfield.
Edison State Community College is one of thirteen participating members
of the OCCAC. The college also competes in Region XII as a Division II
member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in
men’s baseball and women’s softball, men’s and women’s basketball, and
women’s volleyball.
