Darke County Parks
DCP redesigns family programming
Programming has been anything but ordinary this spring and summer for
the Darke County Parks. The naturalist staff have been coming up with
some new, unconventional options for the public to take part in. On
June 15th, things kicked off with remote “Outside the Box” summer camp.
The camp quickly filled and campers picked up their box of supplies
from the Nature Center. The week-long camp was guided by daily videos
that were sent to campers via email. Campers were able to experience
and enjoy hands on activities and crafts, outdoor challenges, as well
as a zoom meeting with naturalist staff at the end of the week. With
the first remote camp being a huge success, a second camp was quickly
planned. “Outside the Box” camp 2 will begin on July 6th.
Other upcoming programs include:
Outside the Box: Preschool Edition
Remote Summer Camp for ages 3-5
7/28-7/31
Expedition Subscription
A unique experience for the entire family!
Every Tuesday through the month of July.
Birding the Bikeway
A "distanced" birdwatching walk along portions of the Tecumseh Trail bikeway!
