Greenville Public Library
Library Opens Phone Lines
The Greenville Public Library is starting a step-by-step process to
restore services to the public. This will be done in several
phases which will depend on government mandates and the containment of
the Covid-19 virus.
Beginning Monday May 11 the Library's phone lines will be open from
noon to 4:00 for the five-day work week. The Library building
itself is still closed to the public until further notice.
We will be able to provide the following by appointment: tax forms,
copying/faxing, general answers to questions, help with technical
problems done over the phone, and use of a computer for unemployment or
job related issues only.
The Childeren's Department is also happy to mail the next reading log
and patch for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program to anyone who
is ready. Please call for these!
The Library is working closely with the Darke County Health Department
to determine what services can be provided safely. We are
grateful for their guidance in putting our plans into place. At
this point the Library has been cleared as a general office
environment which requires staff to wear masks, have their temperature
taken, and to use sanitizer.
Our next phase will be to open the Book Drop so patrons can return
their books and materials. We hope we can do this by June.
Once those items are cleaned and ready for check-out we will begin
curbside pickup and patrons can again restock their reading and
film-watching materials. The exact timeline and procedures for
these phases will be advertised in advance.
The Library appreciates your patience and understanding during these
unprecedented circumstances. Please continue to utilize our
digital services such as Libby and Feegal available from our website
www.greenville-publiclibrary.org. We look forward to serving the
community and to seeing all our patrons again in the future.
