Justin Hadden Rolls First 300 Game in
Program History!!!
January 22, 2021
Justin Hadden on the Greenville High School Varsity bowling team
performed a rare feat in high school bowling. He shot a perfect
bowling game with a score of 300. This is the first 300 in the
history of the Greenville High School Bowling program. At
present, it is the only 300 shot in the MVL during match play this
season.
Justin, a junior, has been bowling since he was 5 years old, so he's
been bowling for 11 years. He started out in youth leagues at
McBo's in Versailles. He's been bowling on the high school team
for 3 years. This is his 2nd year on varsity and is carrying an
average of 182.4. He bowls in a traveling scholarship league on
Sunday nights in the fall and spring which represents lanes from Treaty
Lanes in Greenville to as far away as Springfield and
Bellefontaine. In the fall of 2019, Justin bowled a 298 at Bowl
Ten Lanes in Fairborn as part of the scholarship league. His 300
this year represents the only one presently in the MVL during match
play for this season. The 300 represents a new school record for
Greenville and the 1st perfect game in school history. The
bowling program at the high school has been around 12 years.
According to his father, Rich Hadden, Justin was excited with his
accomplishment and he emphasized how glad he was to have reached this
goal. “When you throw the first 9 strikes, you immediately start
thinking that a 300 is possible.” Justin was no different.
He told his father afterwards that at that point he believed it was
possible.
“He seemed calm,” the senior Hadden said, “but later admitted that he
was shaking inside as he was pretty nervous. He got up, overcame
his nerves and threw 3 textbook shots. Each of his three shots in
the 10th were solid in the pocket. This was even more of an
accomplishment because when you throw the 10th strike, the bowlers on
the surrounding lanes pretty much stop and everyone is watching you
throw your strikes so it makes the pressure that much higher to
accomplish.”
Hadden added that Justin handled it with grace and “made his Father /
Coach extremely proud. The team erupted in cheers and it was an amazing
moment for him, his teammates, his coaches and one that will be forever
enshrined in our memories.”
