Arthur “Tad” E. Weitz, Jr.

Arthur “Tad” E. Weitz, Jr., 51, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away suddenly on August 6, 2020, in La Grange, Kentucky.

He was born on April 4, 1969, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Arthur E. and Dorothy (Gauby) Weitz.

In addition to his parents, Tad was preceded in death by his sister, Wende Weitz.

Tad was a 1987 graduate of Valley View High School in Montgomery County. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he earned the rank, Sargent. He spent time defending this country serving in Desert Storm, Iraq, and, Afghanistan.

Tad was a man filled with laughter but was as tough as a tank. He was an avid gamer and did not discriminate against gaming systems. He enjoyed spending time outside fishing, especially in the ocean. Tad received his master’s degree in archeology from Wright State and it was not uncommon to find him out in the fields looking for artifacts.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Summers, of Ansonia; his children, Dorothy (Sean) Qualls of Lexington, Kentucky, Jerry Mills of Greenville, Travis (Marilyn) Mills of Greenville, and Angelica (Jason) Latou of Greenville; his 8 grandchildren; his siblings, Daniel Weitz of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sally (Allen) Gold of Arlington, Texas, and Joan Schwenger of New Jersey; his sisters-in-law, Paula (Michael) Quinn of Arcanum, and Falicia Oostra of Greenville; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Tad’s life will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.

Guests may visit with Tad’s family on Thursday at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

In Tad’s honor, the family request that casual attire be worn. Tad enjoyed his shorts and tank tops.

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help offset final expenses.
