Michael "Mike" Ray
Wert
Michael "Mike" Ray Wert, 72, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Monday,
March 30, 2020, at his home.
He was born on June 3, 1947, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Warren
and Doris (Fourman) Wert.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister,
Diane Wert.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Franklin Monroe High School. He was a fuel
truck driver for Earhart Petroleum for almost 35 years. When he wasn't
working, he had a short list of activities you could find him doing. He
was a NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He had attended several races in
venues such as Bristol Motor Speedway and Talladega Speedway. When the
weather was nice, he enjoyed taking care of his yard.
Mike is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn (Nill) Wert, whom he
married on June 1, 1968; his children, Chad Wert and Scott Wert, both
of Arcanum, Ohio; his granddaughter, Keisha Wert, and her fiancé,
Austin White, of Greenville; his sister, Linda Altic and her husband,
Larry, of Fayetteville, Georgia; and his beloved beagle, Billy.
The family has entrusted Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with
the arrangements.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mike's family has chosen not to have any
public services.
