Mildred Josephine
Turner
Mildred Josephine Turner, 97 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Monday
September 21st, 2020 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center of
Greenville.
Mildred was born May 29th, 1923 to the late Clifford Isaac Good and
Effie Alice (Stump) Good near Fort Recovery, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband
Glenn W. Turner Sr. and infant child Jennie Lou.
She grew up near Fort Recovery and Rossburg through the Great
Depression. She and Glenn were married in 1940 and had two sons before
he shipped off to the war in Europe. Mildred supported the war effort
by working at local Greenville manufacturing facility.
Upon Glenn's return, the family grew by four more children. They would
relocate to southern Darke County, near Painter's Creek to raise their
children. Mildred was a homemaker, loving mother
and was extremely strong in her faith. She enjoyed spending time with
her family. Her hobbies included playing the organ, canning, knitting
hats to be donated to multiple charities throughout the
world. She also enjoyed volunteering for Youth for Christ and attended
Pleasant View Missionary Church.
Mildred loved her life and felt God had blessed her greatly.
Mildred is survived by her six children. Glenn W. Jr and Susan Kay
(Boomershine), Ronald F. Turner and the late Mary Turner, Joseph
Turner, John A. and Karlene (Crow) Turner, Sue Anne and John Esser,
William J. and Nancy (Berger) Turner and her sister Eileen and Harold
McKnight and sister-in-law Pat (Good) and Jim Benson. Mildred was
also preceded in death by Brothers Kenneth, Ronald, Glen, Wayne and
Sister Betty Lyons. She was proud of her 14 grandchildren, 18 great
grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews -and the family is still growing.
A celebration of her life will take place at Pleasant View Missionary
Church, 5231 Gettysburg-Pitsburg Rd Greenville, Ohio 45331 with Pastor
Sean Martin officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday September 26th between 10am and 12pm, with
services immediately following and burial taking place in the Teegarden
Cemetery Ansonia, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Contributions be made
to Youth for Christ 7603 Greenville-Celina Road #A, Greenville, Ohio,
45331 or State of the Heart Hospice 1350 North Broadway Greenville,
Ohio, 45331.
Mildred's family has entrusted Zechar Bailey Funeral home with the
arrangements.
