Barbara L. Goubeaux
Barbara L. Goubeaux age 94, of Versailles passed away at 10:10 AM on
Sunday, February 14, 2021, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Barbara was born May 23, 1926, in Frenchtown, to the late Joseph P.
& Margaret (DeMange) Schieltz and daughter-in-law to the late
Edward & Emma (Grillot) Goubeaux. In addition to her parents,
Barbara was also preceded in death by a son, Doug Goubeaux; son-in-law,
Lloyd Turner Jr.; siblings, Rita (Schieltz) Grogean, Ruth (Schieltz)
Grogean Kahlig, Edward Schieltz and Virginia Schieltz in infancy;
brothers-in-law, Cyril Grogean, Virl Grogean, Al Schulze, Jim Enneking,
Ambrose Goubeaux, Lowell Goubeaux and Cecil Goubeaux; sisters-in-law,
Matilda (Grogean) Schieltz, Lee (Hansen) Goubeaux, Virginia (Larger)
Goubeaux, Mary Lou (Goubeaux) Schulze and Joan (Kucko) Goubeaux.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 70 years, Marvin E. Goubeaux whom
she married June 8, 1950; children, Jan Turner of Versailles, Cindy
(Goettemoeller) Goubeaux Geise of Coldwater, Kevin & Cheryl (Hehr)
Goubeaux of Russia, Mark & Kimberly (Bakota) Goubeaux of Springboro
and Melissa & Kaelin Turner of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jason
& Jill Turner, Jeremy & Ariana Turner, Jared & Kylie
Turner, Jessica & Bryan Eyink, Danielle & Vince Stinnett,
Justin & Nicole Goubeaux, Larissa Goubeaux, Matthew & Jenna
Goubeaux, Tyler Goubeaux, Erica Goubeaux, Craig & Michaela
Goubeaux, Chad Goubeaux and Ayden Turner; great-grandchildren, Emerson
Turner, Samuel Turner, Liam Turner, Grant Turner, Henry Turner,
Caroline Turner, Lauren Turner, Camille Turner, Brennin Eyink, Connor
Eyink, Bailee Eyink, Easton Eyink, Kinslee Eyink, Cohen Eyink, Parker
Goubeaux, Owen Goubeaux, Natalie Goubeaux, Alexis Goubeaux, Lillian
Goubeaux and 2 expected; sisters-in-law, Virginia (Gasson) Goubeaux of
Versailles and Carolyn (Goubeaux) Enneking of Minster; brother-in-law,
Dale Goubeaux of Tallmadge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, baker, avid daily
walker, loved caring for her flowers and playing cards. She was a
faithful member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles who attended
Mass daily. She was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella in
which she held various
offices.
A public Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday,
February 19, 2021 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev.
Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Streaming of the Mass can be found on Zechar
Bailey Funeral Homes Facebook page. Burial will follow in St. Valbert
Cemetery, Versailles. A private visitation will be held. It is the
wishes of the family that memorial contributions may be made to State
of the Heart Care or Darke County Right to Life. A special thank you to
the many caregivers who so lovingly provided care during Barbara’s
journey to heaven. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey Zechar
Funeral Home in Versailles.
